alternator belts are loose . how do you tight the alternator up thanks

On the front face of the alternator adjusting bracket there is a lock nut, lossen it and then you can use the adjusting bolt (the one going through the adjuster block) to tension the belt. Tighten the locknut when your done. Don't overtighten the belt, you can damage the bearings in the alternator.Alan

check the belt for cracks etc, if it's showing a lot of wear replace it.Alan
