    Hey Vince

Just had an MOT failure on the nearside rear brakes. Supposedly not recording any braking force and 'wet'. They suggested a failed cylinder.

Can you let me know any parts I need to order and can I pop up to monopolise on your time again please?

On the good side, everything else was OK on the MOT!

Definitely the wheel cylinder and not the axle seal?
Has the brake fluid level dropped at all?

I need to pick it up and have a look later. If it's dry (weather) I'll jack it up and have a nose.

Thinking about it, it's probably the same as what happened to the other side and more likely to be the seal.

After much gnashing of teeth and a very lucky find of a couple of perfect sized bolts, I managed to get the drum off!

Not much oil around the cylinder but the seal looks wet so is the likely culprit.

        What's me shopping list then..?

        RA001 Rear inner axle seal
RA002 Outer half shaft seal (think I have that one don't I?)
        BR010 Rear Brake Shoe Set

        cheers!

Just the inner seal (RA001) and the brake shoes.
I still have your outer seal here.

Do you want to leave the truck here Friday night and collect Sunday afternoon? I could refurb your wheels at the same time.

If we can do Thursday evening, that would be easier, if that's OK? Friday is Scouts, Beavers, Boulders climbing = logistically challenged parents!

Wheels refurbished would be a bonus but certainly not necessary!

              Thursday is fine.
I refurbed an alloy wheel today, so I'm 'in the zone' to do more.

                Thursday it is, thanks.

What do you do with the tyres? Do you mask them off or something?

I make up a cardboard tube to mask off the tyres.
