Also, play in the steering idler. Is it better to get a new unit one or get the replacement bushes?

Last one, are the steering damper kits worthwhile on a standard 4runner?

Yes those the arb droplinks for the front bar.

Steering idler is personal choice but if going for replacement try and get one with a grease nipple for longer life. Changing the bushes saves a few quid though.
