Is my manual lying about the valves?

I will be pulling my head soon and decided to check the shim clearances while I was in there. They don't fit spec if I follow the manual which states the valves go 1-inlet, 1-exhaust, 2-inlet...(when looking from the front of the truck). In looking at some head pictures, it appears that it actually goes 1-exhaust, 1-inlet, 2-exhaust...

Can anyone confirm if the manual is wrong or right?

Without going out to look, I'd make a guess at the manual being right.

The manual and the pictures are right, your eyes are wrong.



(are you looking at a 2.4 head? they are the otherway round, that manual is for a 3.0)

I verified with my eyes today and the manual is correct. The other manual that I was comparing to is the Gregory's Prado and Hilux manual from Australia and it apparently has pictures of a different head.
