hello all
can anyone tell me if its possible to change a piston from under
the car thru the sump
i have no way of lifting engine out

I've got a zipped manual but need an email addy to attach it to which tells you how to go but I think you're on a hiding to nothing as far as lying beneath the truck goes as it looks like its an engine out job anyway. You sure theres something wrong with the pistons? H

The crank is in the way, they go in from above.

I've done it before with the motor in place, but you have to take the front diff out, or you can't drop the sump.

After that its just like any other motor, head off, sump off, undo big ends, push piston out top.

thanks guys i had done an old surf before the old pickup type
i managed that but it would seam that engine out is the way forward
if i can find somewere to do it
as for the prob. i,ve had the old scope on it and am pretty sure a little
ends gone no loss of oil pressure so not the big end
goner crack the injectors tomoz to be sure which one
