  • Steering relay rod recall help

Hi guys I have just called Toyota dealer in Builth Wells about the recall and after giving him my reg and chassis number he said there is no outstanding recall on my vehicle.

But from another thread (post 8 here) my chassis number is included ...

Vehicle: Toyota Hilux Surf Wagon type Y-KZN130W, Y-KZN130G, KD-KZN130W, KD-KZN130G
    Manufactured: 07/04/1993..09/05/1995
    Affected: 73409
    VIN/Eng #: KZN130-9000000..KZN130-9074514
    My chassis number is KZN1309056708

I have checked the chassis plate on the bulkhead and there is no yellow paint there which apparently means the problem has been fixed.

Can any one advise of what steps if any I can take next please ?

                  hmm, this is interesting...

my 94 surf, frame# kzn130-9009258, to my understanding, should fall into this recall, I have the dot of yellow paint on the info plate, my dilemma is that I live in Canada ( truck was imported from Japan 2 years ago) my local toyota dealership wont touch my truck ( for an oil change or even an alignment) so they wont be of any help...

I'm just wondering if emailing the UK customer help would be more beneficial to me, as toyota canada doesnt provide any help with the rhd's

Hi Nukes, if you have the yellow dot then the relay rod has been replaced.
