  • black smoke

Ok so after trying to do a compression test yesterday and not doing I restarted today rebuilding the thing back up I had a chat with a chap who said it could be the fuel pump due to it being black smoke meaning over fueling.

Once rebuilt the thing started no over revving just ticking over nice but with some black smoke when increasing the revs but nothing like what it was you could not see the car it was that bad.

I found out that you can do a diagnostic check on these cars by shorting out the system and it gave me error

    24
INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL--OPEN OR SHORT IN INTAKE AIR TEMP. SIGNAL
    --INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT

    --INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    --ECU

Would this give me the black smoke see vid

Have a word with TonyN and see if he has a S/H one to try and eliminate that fault, also it may sound daft but get the TPS checked as these can throw up some interesting faults have a look at these pages
