How can I check if my electric fan is working?

how can i check if the electric fan on my 94 surf ssr-x 3.0l is working? I have never seen it firing up since I bought the car.

Just unplug the lead from the sender on the side of the thermostat. The electric fan should fire up immediately.

Thermostat on the 3Ltr is bottom of engine, switch is top where the top hose connects and is front of this housing.
