Morning all.....and a wet one at that!!
Last couple or three weeks i've noticed i get a puff of dark grey smoke every time i start the engine whether the engine is up at normal operating temps or cold.
I can switch off for a few mins and start it, and there's a puff of smoke then it's clear. Doesn't smoke at any other time apart from when the throttle is floored but nothing unusual there and not much at that.
It may be it's always done it and i've not noticed till recently, or maybe recently started, i'm not sure. Doesn't smell like burning oil not does it use any oil however, it does smell like burnt fuel.
The only mods so far is the EGR vacuum pipe blanked off and a tiny tweak of the spill valve. The truck runs brilliant. starts every time on the dot, i really can't fault it apart from the smoke on startup.
Is this normal or is it a sign of an impending spend?
