  • Rough shut down

I have been doing a bunch of work over the last year on my truck. Originally when I would shut off the engine, the engine would shake quite a bit. In the course of other work, this somehow went away. Now it is back again and for the life of me, I can't tie it to a cause or figure out how to fix the issue.

    Any ideas?

I do not know the shape of my motor mounts, but I have blocked off the EGR. What does the EGR do during engine shut-off?

        Thanks for the responses

No, it does die. It just shakes a lot as a result of the shut-off.

Well, I opened up the truck to swap in a spare injection pump and also check the valve shim clearances. When I put it back together and fired it up and then off, the shut down was perfectly smooth. I don't have an obvious reason for this, but maybe air was leaking in somewhere and now that has been sealed. Its frustrating to solve a problem but not know how.
