1995 rear tail gate

hi,

i have noticed that the problem with my tail gate opening and closing is due to the metal runners at the bottom of the window are totaly rusted away. does anyone have any quick fixes for this as i cant afford to buy new ones??

Replaced mine November last year - I reused the rubber inserts, and found it cheaper to buy just the metal channels from Toyota. Just tell them it's a 4runner

Be careful not to deform the metal channels when you are putting them on the glass - some say to tap them on with a rubber mallet, but they easily bend.
I found it best to get them on as well as you can without undue force, then reassemble into the door. Then by putting the window down about halfway, you can lever carefully against the regulator arms to get the channels right on.
