  • Air Con Drive Belt

    Hi All

Just tried fitting a new air con belt supplied by a company in Exeter and it is too short to fit even with the tensioning pulley at its lowest point. The part they supplied was a Gates 6477mc. Does anyone know of either the correct part number or a suitable alternative please.

    Cheers

They are always tight, you need to take tensioner pulley right off, fit it to belt then slide the tensioner over it's bolt.

        Thanks guys.

Where would you say that the tensioner should sit in its slot about a quarter or halfway up. I ask this because I suspect the bolt is not the original and would only allow the pulley to get 2/3 of the way down to the bottom of its slot? If its lower than that it look like I'll have to source a new bolt!

        Cheers
