  • Wiring for swap to manual transmission

I am in the process of swapping the auto tranny to the manual on my 1kz-te Tacoma. Waiting for parts is no fun. Anyway, I am trying to ensure that I have everything in order for the wiring side of things, and the one thing that I am not sure of is which wires notify the vehicle when in reverse position? I have a KZN185, but maybe the KZN130 folks can still help.

On the auto tranny itself there are 4 connectors, one for the solenoids, one for the ETC speed, one for the tranny oil temp, and a big fat one next to it that seems to have a couple of uses. I have found that three of the wires (V-R, Lt. G-B, and B-Y) are for the neutral start switch. The other four (L-Y, W-B, B-R, and R-Y), I am not sure of. Is the reverse switch in there? Or is reverse switched in the cab at the shift lever?

Also, since I am going to manual, the neutral start switch is not very useful to me anymore; should the V-R or the Lt. G-B be permanently jumpered to the B-Y?

    Thanks
