  • what is this wire???

Found this wire on left hand side of engine bay, it was tucked down by the alternator, any idea what its for or gets bolted too?

is it an earth wire or what, if anyone can check i'd appreciate it!

Looks like the earth that should be on the inner wing i think.
Is it 2nd or 3rd gen? i seem to recall an earth from the inner wing to engine block possibly that's the one. do have any weird electrical faults at all?
I'M ALWAYS IN THE SH'T, IT'S ONLY THE DEPTH THAT VARIES!!!!!!!!

2nd Gen, no faults at all, everything works great, only thing is the interior lights dont go off and on with the doors opening and closing, but I was told a previous owner done this, his kids kept flattening the batteries, but I am sure thats a seperate issue altogether. otherwise all good.

It is hard to say from a photo but if that is the a/c compressor then i think there should be a lug on one of the bolts holding it on, if there is no lug already on your a/c compressor bolts then I think you have found its home. It will be earthing more than likely

I dont see any lug, I guess it could just take one of the bolts out and stick it through, but I do really want to find out where it goes...

There should be an earth strap on the ac compressor, i know this because i forgot to put mine back on when I changed my head etc but fortunatley when i found it a few months later I had marked it and it told me where to put it. If it is this cable the lug would be a snug fit on the bolts. I suppose because the compressor bolts in to the engine it is possibe that this is the main engine earth strap. If I can find my camera tomorrow I will try to take a photo of mine.
