  • Picture of the Kickdown/Throttle cable

I'm off in to battle again...

Any chance one of you can post a picture of the Kickdown/Throttle cable set up on a 3.0 2nd gen? I've searched here and on the Australian site, but can only find pictures of a 2.4. I know a 2.4 has exactly the same set up, but I'd rather go in armed with the correct picture...

Nobody with a 3.0 got a digital camera? Wow!

(any links to the 2.4 pics so i know where to point the camera would be good)

        Thanks, Alan.

Mainly I would like a picture of this:

And if you can, one of the ATF filler would be nice:

I've got a 3.0 parked outside and I've got a new digital camera.
          Want some photos now?

Aye, if there's enough light down there. The pictures are to show that the kickdown cable is clearly wrong and that the clip holding the filler in is damaged.

              Any use?

Doesn't get dark enough for lights until 21:30 here at this time of year.

Yep, perfect, Vince. Is the 3rd cable (closest to the front) for CC?

Alan, thanks for yhe offer, Much appreciated.

Andy, just so you don't look silly, if you pull on the kickdown cable it goes slack like that and stays slack till you run the car and select gears. Is that how it is when first lifting the bonnet or have you poked it?

The dipstick isn't secured like that though.

It came out of the garage, after the gearbox fiasco, looking like that. The picture was taken after a run and without fiddling with the cable.

The dipstick vibrates out if the pipe! They obviously bent the end of the dipstick and the clip when they re-fitted the gearbox.

So there should be 3 cables on the linkage? I's only got two, is this the reason my throttle up button does not work?? presses in half way and springs back..

The third cable is cruise control.

The idle up button isn't latching, you just press it to idle up, press it again to get back to normal, and only works in N or P, its all electrical.
