  • EGR Location?

    Hi all

I just bought a 3L diesel surf and was thinking about blocking off the EGR valve, but after extensive searching on this forum, and others, I can't seem to find anything conclusive.
As far as I can understand, the EGR is vacuum operated, and the easiest method of disabling it, is by blocking off a vacuum pipe. I've taken a picture of where I think I need to block off, but I was hoping someone could tell me exactly where I need to block.

    Thanks!

EGR pipe runs from the exhaust manifold round to that actuator you've pictured, put a blanking plate at each end of the pipe at the flanges. Its a pain to get off though, I did mine as I changed the head as better access.

There'll be search and related stuff to your thread underneath it, try those for the ball bearing in the tube/cable tie method. H

Just stuff a ball bearing inside the rubber pipe you have pictured,
Anywhere in the pipe will do, just make sure it is a tight fit.
It will stop the actuator actuating.

You can do the blanking plate mod when you next have the head off or something else equally serious.
