Tappets

Hello all.
I have recently bought myself a 3rd gen 3.0 ssrg but have noticed there is a slight tappety noise from cold which disappears once warm. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or can they / should they be adjusted or re-shimmed?
Completely different subject, does anyone know the standard height from ground to wheel arch for my surf?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks steve

I wouldn't worry to much if it goes quickly and isn't sounding 'nasty', lots do it and the shims are PITA to do.

I'd keep an eye (ear.. lol ) on it for now.
