Warning Lights (again)

Hi - the earlier post today reminded me that I really should know what the 'CHECK' warning light on the dashboard means. This light comes on periodically when I switch on the ignition, goes out immediatly the engine starts . I've no idea what it means, or what I'm supposed to check. Can someone elighten me please? Nothing found on a quick search of the threads on the forum.

If it comes on with the ignition and goes out when the engine has started, thats normal. It's just letting you know that the light is working.

If the light comes on when driving, then there's a problem and it will be logged in the ECU.
