Bit of a sneaky thread this as although I have a KZN185 Gen 3 the problem mentioned is actually on a 4Runner 3.0 td 1993- I've no idea if posts concerning these are normally welcome but as a lot of the mechanicals are the same, i'm losing nothing by trying; the 4Runner forum has not solved the issue.
bought the 4Runner recently and was a tad complacent, didn't check the 4wd "its a Toyota, of course it'll be working"....tried engaging either low or high4 recently in snow and zilch...no dash light, and only rear wheels biting.
Have taken it to a garage that usually does my MOT's and they couldn't identify the problem; all I've gleaned so far is that it may be an ADD vacuum switch but as I'm waiting for a workshop manual to be delivered I don't know yet where it is situated, can anyone advise, thanks
