  • New head ready to be fitted, but.........

My head cracked a couple of weeks ago. booked it into my local garage, phone call saying exhaust manifold cracked. This morning another phone call Water in No 3 pot has seeped pass the piston rings over night. New piston rings maybe?

Question: Can the pistons be pushed up from underneath with the sump removed.
The Mechanic is Mitzi trained and has worked on Toyota Hi-Lux plus he has allways worked on my Surf when needed.

There is a thread stating it can be done this way, mine had water in 1 pot too but has never smoked or shown signs of ring wear, I mopped the bit water out, sprayed WD40, wiped that around and rotated the engine, stuck the head on and all back to normal. H
