  • t-belt light reset pics??

    hi there,

I have a 1997 3.0ltr 3rd gen, and have just changed the t-belt, and now need to reset the t-belt light in the dash. I have read all the t-belt reset posts, and know that i need to remove the dash cluster, and move a screw across to a different hole, but after removing the cluster, i cant see any screws that look like the ones that have been described.. if that makes any sense!?

i was just wondering if anyone had any pictures of wthe screw in question?

    please help!!

    Cheers,

    CURLY

I can't upload photos at the moment, but the only screw hole I have free on mine is one on it's own saying '4p' but there is one with a screw in it already with 'T' next to it? Could it be something to do with that one? T for t-belt and all that!?

        Cheers in advance!

Do you have a digital odometer?

If you do then have a look here.

The dials are manual, but there is a little digital bit like a calculator that shows the miles. Is that the digital type?

Digital will be an LED display.

If you can send me your Model and Frame numbers i can see what type you have in the EPC.

I just tried that, holding the trip button, (which I'm assuming is the same one to change from odo to tripa and then trip b?) but no matter how long I held it down it didn't change to anything? Am I pushing the right button for 5 seconds? (black thin push button sticking out of the dials?)

I'll get you the chassis number in a bit, but the model is a SSR-X limited.

Cheers for the help so far!

Sounds like the right button. Are you following the correct procedure?

Where Optitron (Lexus style with digital odometer) dials are fitted, use the following procedure.
Set the digital display to ODO
                    Turn off IGN
Holding the TRIP reset button, turn on IGN
                    Hold TRIP for 5sec.
The digital display will show "1"
Pressing the TRIP will advance the number 1, 2, 3, 4 etc...
                    Each represents 10,000k. So 10 = 100,000
When you get to "10" press and hold TRIP for 5sec.
Display resets back to the ODO reading
Turn off IGN and then back on.

Yup, tried that. No matter how long I hold the button down for, the odo display doesn't change to '1'.

Chassis number is: kzn185-9026705. Have I got the right dials??

                      Cheers,

Sorted! I had to keep my finger on the trip button for nearly a minute!? But the rest of the write up worked a treat. I set it to 6 as I have had it converted to miles, and figured 100,000 km's = 60,000 miles ish..

Thank you all for your help!

                        Cheers,
