Should my radiator fan be running from start up or is it a clutch problem? I would have thought it should only spin up when the engine needs cooling? It's on my newly aquired '95 SSRX Gen 2.

It's not got a clutch, it's a viscous fluid one. The hub is filled with oil which increases in viscosity as it heats up, so it will always spin, but faster when it's hotter. Some people have dismantled it an d filled it with silicone instead to have it spin faster the whole time.
There's an electric fan too, on the front of the rad, which is controlled by a thermistor - that will windmill gently at low temps and should turn on only at high temps.Andy
