arial dilema

but the one i purchased from ebay and looks like the same on on roughtrax looks very different as here

i have had the arial out but cannot fathom out how it would possibly be the same..any suggestions

Stop me if I'm stating the obvious, but what you've got there is just the aerial mast, not the motor/lifting mechanism that's attached to the one off ebay...that's why they look different.

Any help?

i only purchased the mast because the motor works, but the problem is it does not seem to fit into the housing, i will try and get a picture tomorow of the new ariel and the old one side by side and you peeps might identify with my dilema or stupidity.

Have you taken the old bit of mast and plastic wormy bit out?

They come in different sizes these things, you may have bought a generic one that was listed as a 3rd gen aerial.

it is a generic one but looks exactly like the same one of roughtrax, and did say it was for this model of Surf, baffled by it really, to me it looks like you have to replace all the upper part of the mast/ariel as one piece not just the mast as the old one seems to be molded into the holder.(not including the motor)
