3 weeks after the problem trading standards are telling me that the burden is on me to prove the fault was there before i bought it, due to the age of the car.. it's 16 years old you know!!! can anybody point me in the direction of a good lawyer. also can anybody give me a picture of a cracked head so i know what to look for . trading standards want to do an independent inspection but say that it will cost 100 quid but only if they think it's worth it. will keep you posted and thanks for the help so far.

only real way is to take the head off, if the bore and piston tops are all pitted with water damage its been like it awhile.
