Was going to start taking the old motor off now, but just realised there's only about an hour and a half of daylight left!

Just been having a look at how to get at it, I can't even see/feel the top bolt (
17mm? - I read in another post) Also read in another post that this top nut is a right b*tch to get off - oh joy.

Do I have to take my wheel off or is it possible to do it without taking it off? My axle stands are only "normal" car size, not sure if they'll reach/hold the truck?

Roll on tomorrow, I hope it's not snowing again!

you can do it all from the top.if you got an old 17mm you can bend a bit as that will help you a little. Also use a bigger spanner as a breaker bar if needed

Ok, I've got 2 or 3 17mm spanners so I can spare one to bend. Do you just have to bend it so you can get a breaker on it from above?

I need to find that damned top bolt though, until I can see/feel for it for myself I can't picture how to do it yet. I'm gonna be thinking about this all bl**dy night now, I just know it.

Still looking on the bright side though, it'll be a good job done and all that.

If I get chance I think I'll do an oil / oil filter change as well......famous last words?
