1-kz turbo

can the turbo from a 2002 hilux surf (1kz-te engine) be bolted on to a 2000 surf (same 1kz-te engine) without modifications????.......im in jamaica an my turbo is busted, an someone is trying to sell me one that taken off a 2002 model.........

Hi mate.I take it you have got the kzn185 surf then 3rd gen.I would think the turbo's should fit ok but i'm sure someone will be along real soon to clarify it.

Unfortunately I do not have the latest EPC working yet so have used the ToyDIY.com one.

Two part numbers come up for the 2000 model so I can't be sure if they are the same.

The 2002 model comes up as a KDN185 (KZN185 listed but not in the next menu) so may be a different engine and a different turbo.

not knowing the part number nev, my 2nd gen 3.0 (kzn130 i believe) has a prado, or equivalent turbo on it. i have no idea if the prado is the same as the kzn 185 but its much newer than mine (1993)

thanks for all ur help......my busted one and the new one r the same,jus hope it works o.k....
could the broken turbo lower my M.P.G?..the vehicle has become a fuel guzzler lately...
