  • Rad and atf oil questions

    Hi Folks
Got a split in the rad today, tried to repair but figured its old and time to change it.
Undid everything but the rad seems stuck. Its free and can move either up or down but do I need to remove the fan to get it out?
Also, lost some atf in removing the pipes, how do I top it up and check the level?
Ta in advance oh wise ones,
    Bazza

as long as you have taken the shroud off and all the pipes the rad will come out but when it comes to fitting the new rad i would take the fan out.
If you never lost much atf then you shouldn't need to top up but if you do need to top up then you fill it via the dipstick tube(the orange one to the rear)

Cool, thanks for that. Just one more thing, do I need to check the atf when it is running?
      Cheers

This explains it a bit for you.
Don't worry its not too technical.

            re

Seems easy enough, even for me! Thanks chaps
It'll have to wait til the morning now, but the rad is in, topped up several times, no leaks I can see and the heaters are hot. Did the oil and filters while I was getting grubby too, so hopefully sorted tomorrow!
            Ta again for the help,
            Bazza
