  • 3rd Gen Braided Brake hoses

    Hi All

Not been around for a while - Surf has been reliable, and my net time has been elsewhere...

    Ahem...

My front brake hoses need renewing, according the the man with the MOT symbol on his wall, so does anyone know whre I can get a set of braided brake hoses for a 3rd Gen?
I've tried Llama 4x4, who can make them, but need photos/dimensions. Anywhere else?

    TIA
    Peter

First place I checked Those are the standard rubber hoses - I'm after the type with the braided steel reinforcement, which don't bulge under pressure - gives better brake feel and performance. Let's face it, when stopping 2 tonnes of Surf, the brakes need all the help they can get!

Peter it will be better to actually ring and talk to Barry at Roughtrax. The extended braided brake lines for the 2nd gen you won't find unless you know the item number and search for it.I know Barry does the standard length brake lines for a 2nd gen but i haven't looked for 3rd gen parts tho

            Hi folks

Roughtrax was the first place I phoned The 3rd gen lines aren't the same as the 2nd gen, apparently, and Barry doesn't carry them - the only ones he stocks are the standard line for the front brakes.

Looks like a session with camera and tape measure at the weekend

Check over on Elite Pete. I seem to recall one of the members on there does braided hoses. Do a search or pop a thread up over there.
