  • Vegoil on 3.0L TD

    Hi all!

Does anyone of you have experience with vegoil on a 3.0L TD 1-KZT ?
I'd like to add vegoil in mine, as I do on a old peugeot 205 (50%)
Do you know how much I can mix? I thing up to 20%.

    Thanks for feedback

when i use it in my 3.0l i use about 75% to 100% in the summertime.
I do mix a couple of litres of white spirit to 20l of veg oil tho just to help stop it from thickening .You can fit a heater aswell for the veg oil which will run off of the cooling system.

      75 to 100%, wahooo !!

There is no problem with the turbo??

I don't want to put a heater yet, maybe in the future if I can filter 40L of oil a week.
I'm collecting used oil from restaurants.

you shouldn't have any problems with the turbo by using veg oil.You will need to have a new fuel filter at hand as the wvo/svo can loosen the crap in the fuel tank and block the filter.
Some people have had problems with some of the fuel pump seals going but they are an easy enough fix but fingers crossed m ine has been ok so far

              Really interesting !!

I'll try tomorrow to run on 20% WVO and go slowly up to 50%.

Don't you have some spec about the fuel pump of a 1-KZT?

For some reason, you shouldn't use veg oil which meat has been cooked in it, as far as i know.

Meat produces a lot of water into the WVO, but if filtered properly it's no worse than chip oil!!

You also need to be particualrly careful using meat fats as they solidify more than veg oil.
If its very warm when you filter and thyen fill your tank, then the temp drops whilst the oil is in your tank you could end up with a blocked tank strainer. Same applies if you filter in a heated shed or garage then stick the oil in a fuel tank that is outside.

Acidity is another factor to take into consideration too.
