  • 200,000kms and still going strong.

Can't believe the Surf has now done 200k. Seems like yesterday when I bought her. She has been so reliable and not cost too much to maintain.
She's pulled 25ft trailers around the country with no problems at all. I'm now looking for someone reliable to change the cambelt, 200k service her and change a couple of steering bushes so she's set for a few more miles yet. Anyway, I was just thinking - I wonder who here has done the most miles in their Surfs?

I asked the same question last year & some people could have drove to the moon & back with the mileage they had done.
Regular serviceing & maintenance is the key to a reliable truck.

I've had mine just over 2 years & put 50'000 miles on it without skipping a beat, only had to buy general wear & tear parts ie: tyres, brakes, exhaust ect.

If i ever have to buy another motor it would be surf.

That's what I was thinking. Buying another Surf!

Hubby needs another car just to move a small trailer about and to use for work. The prices for 3rd Gen Surfs seem to be pretty reasonable at the moment and with their reliability it seems the obvious choice. And thank god for places like Roughtrax and Milners plus this forum!

which school did you attend, I was giving a rough figure but the exact is:
                120000 mi. = 193121.28 km, so I'm 7k out, I'm not arguing either but 100kph is roughly 60mph. H

Anyone want to do my 200k service and the steering bushes for me for some CASH? I've got the parts but being a bit girlie Im not really thinking of getting my hands too dirty. My brother who usually does the work is overseas at mo. I'm in the Eastbourne area if anyone interested otherwise I'll have to book it into some garage in the hope they've worked on Surfs before.

The steering bushes are a right pain to do, wish i'd have taken mine to a garage to be done.

Surf mofo had the same trouble as me, total tw@t of a job so be warned.
