Afternoon All,
After changing the complete heater/fan controls in my dash last year because the fan controller switch was getting hot and melted the back of the unit. I have noticed that the problem is happening again and before it completely melts again. I going to try and look at what is happening and why the voltage to the bar is getting to high and hot.
Does anybody have a wiring Diagram for this unit and the fans, for me to follow or suggestions of what it can be. Or even advise what colours the wires are at the back of the heater so that I can try and trace them to the fan itself? If I remember correctly there were 4 wires going to the back of the fan switch and resulted in a combination of connections to provide the 4 speeds.
If I turn the fan off the switch cools down again. The actual problem seems to be intermittent, so I have tried various combinations with lights on etc and do not seem to be able to make it happen at will.
I suspect that it is probably a relay some where along the line, but I don't want to start swapping bits out, in case I cause another problem.
Thanks in advance for any information
M.
