Hello. Had my surf 4 weeks now, just had a drive of another surf today same make , year as mine. and it drove much better than mine.
Mine seems to have a wobble pulls to the left, slight play on steering wheel and can hear a knocking from the back somewhere, tyres are brand new, 225 70 15, at 33 psi, just had two new cv boots fitted as the others were split.

Started to really bug me now since I drove the other surf which was perfect.
I am not very mechanicly minded, so would like some thoughts on these matters to go back to the dealer with.
    Thanks Kevin.

Sounds like the idler arm bushes or tie rod ends. But make sure the tracking and wheel balence is OK.

Thanks Tony. Still concerned about the knocking noise coming from the back end somwhere, also you can feel every litle bump in the road.
      Cheers Kevin.

Had this before, the shock had come undone at the top.

Check your springs, suspension links, rear wheel nuts, exhaust hangers, etc. Anything that could be rattling.

Thanks again mate. Will put it to the dealer on Tuesday and let you know the outcome.
          Cheers Kevin.

It is more of a dull sounding knock then a rattle, definatley coming from the back, seem to hear it more when driving slow, checked for losse fittings but cant find any,,, mind you I have not got a clue what I am looking for.

            Cheers Kevin.

check the exhaust around the back box, make sure its not catching on the body or axle

Does it have an underslung spare? That may need tightening up into its housing. Give it a kick to see if it moves.
