    Advice please!

Got a front diff off of E-bay to replace one that failed on mine. got it all done and came to the last bits and bobs, vac hoses etc, and found no electric socket at the back of the diff! the one on the front is there but not the one on the back!

So can someone tell me what it's for and if it's vital?

    Cheers

Rear sensor is for oil temperature. I can't remember if the ADD will work without it so just try it out.

Ok put it on and oil temp sender it may be, but it seems to have another function too.
It will not let me select 4wd while on the move. if i stop and select it then no probs, i can take it off on the move but not put it on!
other than that it all seems ok, 4wd works fine in both hi and low.

so it seems there may be another sensor in there too, a speed sensor to sync the diff with the road speed for the ADD to engage perhaps?
