  • Where is the temp. sender unit?

    Hi guys

I have bought an additional temperature gauge to fit to my '96 3.0 KZN 185, and I have had a good look around the top rad. hose, radiator, thermostat housing for it - no joy.

Can anyone give me any pointers please?

    Thanks!

not sure for certain but under the manifold on the n/s at the front of the block there's a wire going into a sensor which i think may be the temp sensor. This is going by the kzn130 so may be the same for the kzn185 aswell

That's about where it is on a KZN130 but the 185 is at rear, under the head and above the starter in a similar position to the LN130s.

Should recognise it as it has a gold/coppery colour look to it. It should just unscrew.

Yeah KZN130 - Near side half way down towards the front of the engine.

Yep, lots of us do. Just not the 45 who viewed your question. Have patience my friend...

Remember, you took less than 48 hours to complain, but almost 9 days to acknowledge the replies!

                Thank you O Patronising One!

That might be something to do with the fact that I was at home for two days and trying to get some work done on the house and car before being away from home for over a week.

The folk who didn't reply may have been in exactly the same predicament, or worse.

And patronising is my middle name, so that was no insult at all

It wasn't an insult, merely a factual description based on your contribution (?) as a self-appointed member of the "bump police" which adds nothing of substance to this thread.

Yes I did bump the thread after 2 days, this didn't seem too hasty, I have seen bumping mere hours after posting on this and other forums.

Anyway, I'm sure you have better things to do than query this issue 11 days after it was posted, when others have already been helpful and answered my question.

I know I have, so thanks to those who took the time to post helpful replies.

To be honest, I don't give a rats arse what you think of me or my posts, it's not like you're my best mate!

I was pointing out that you were quick enough to have a go at all of us for not replying immediately, but slow to appreciate the replies when they came in. We all have lives outside this forum, not just you.

Bump police? Why do you think replying to a post after 3 minutes is bumping it? And my post does add substance, its just that you, in your insular world, don't appreciate it.

And you're right, I do have much better things to do than reply to this type of thread. But I can't resist sometimes.

                        - Well we both agree that's a good thing then.

I was pointing out that you were quick enough to have a go at all of us for not replying immediately, but slow to appreciate the replies when they came in. We all have lives outside this forum, not just you.

                        - Learn to read and check your facts before trying to bully people:

                        1) I did not "have a go" at anyone, I was bumping a thread before it went onto the next page and had less chance of being answered, and also because as already stated, I was only home for a couple of days at the time of posting.

                        2) Again, check your facts: I usually thank everyone when I have asked for help and have had a few replies.

Bump police? Why do you think replying to a post after 3 minutes is bumping it? And my post does add substance, its just that you, in your insular world, don't appreciate it.

                        - 3 minutes? You need to learn to count as well as read, try 11 days.

And you're right, I do have much better things to do than reply to this type of thread. But I can't resist sometimes.
                        - The problem is you thought you would post a nasty little comment and then swagger away in to the sunset but now you've ended up looking a bit of a ####, and painted yourself into a corner, leaving yourself no exit.

Would you behave like this in real life? No, you just thought you would try it on because this is a forum, and you thought you could have a go at someone else's expense, whilst hiding behind your online identity.

I'll be unsuscribing to this thread, and not visiting it again, so you just carry on wasting bandwidth if you like.

... and thanks again to all who posted helpful replies.

found the sender unit nice friendly thread as well.
The search facility is so amusing at times.
