  • Clutch Advice

I have a 94 - 4 runner (150k) and not sure if clutch is on the way out

for some time now it has crunched a bit getting into reverse however the last week or so the peddle feels weird.....can only discribe it as it felt like the sole of my shoe was split or the rubber on the peddle was wobbly but its not.

So is this telling me something and how can you tell if clutch has gone?

    Is there any adjustment available?

Is it something thats DIY and any good links to follow. Dont think mine is dual mass but can I get away with new clutch kit or will i end up doing flywheel too?

    thanks for any help

Not sure if they have a clutch cylinder? If so, it may be worthwhile checking that it ain't seizing up and also making sure that the reservoir is full.

I honestly couldn't say, personally. I'm only working from the little I can remember of past threads.

Start ya motor n with Handbrake full on, select fourth gear n try to pull away as normal gradually increasing the revs ....
If it's trying to stall there's nowt to worry about !!
If it starts to slip (without trying to pull away) ya clutch will need replacing !!!

There's always a Payback .... Ya won't never ever see it Comin tho !!!!
