  • Saggy a*se syndrom...what to do to fix it?

Hi all this is the Mrs so please bear with me here Our baby has experienced SAS since we loaded her up (full inside, 2 GSD's, toddler, roofbox, etc) and moved to Italy so now the back end visibly sits 2" lower than the front. What do I (ie: hubby) need to do to fix this? Is it as simple as changing the springs or would we need to get new shocks too?
Also been having problems with the oil. The husband checks it frequently before we drive off because of the heat over here and some days it seems to just disappear and then suddenly hey ho it's full or overfull again. What could be the cause of the disappearing act and what oil is suggested for use in hotter climates? It's still in the mid 30's here.
One more thing...our gators need replacing and the only parts place that will deliver to our BPFO is Milners are the "stick on" gators they sell any good or would it be better to buy those from Toyota? Language is an issue here so talking to a mechanic gets lots of head scratching and shoulder shrugging! Any help would be much appreciated

It's easy enough to change the springs, if you have enough jacks... Undo the brake pipes where they bolt to the back axle, and the Anti roll bars where they mount to the chassis, jack it up till the springs come free and drop in the new ones. It's easier if you have spring compressors. HD springs would probably be a good plan. If you cut the bottom couple of inches off the bump stops, it's much easier.
    it's in me shed, mate.

you should be able to get away with just the 20% uprated springs from milners.I would get the proper cv boots aswell as you could end up keep changing the stick on ones.If you have any trouble getting any parts sent over then i am more than happy for you to send the money to me and i will order the parts for you and then send them on via the BFPO as i sent a radiator to Gibralter via these for someone a little while back.
I cant suggest anything about the oil but someone will be along and suggest the best oil etc for over there

Thank you guys for the help, Hubby gets back tomorrow so will get him busy under the truck..lol..

Stormforce-we will most likely take that postage offer up since it is fairly hard to get the parts we need here. Thanks much for that!

You sure? And they wont make worn out springs strong again. The trucks getting well loaded so HD springs are definitely the way forward.

if the aim is to bring it back to ride height, then spacers would be fine. presumably they wont be loading it up to move to italy again so are HD springs realy needed?

I meant the price. Spacers are 80-100 quid hd springs are 50 ish...

in aus a 30mm coild spacer is $40 each from superiorengineering.com.au, whereas a 200kg constant load pair of coil springs is $220, so thats $140 saved by getting spacers... something is wrong with your pricing if it costs more for a lump of polyurathane than it does for a HD spring...

the springs have gone up a little since I got mine.. http://www.roughtrax4x4.com/?doc=16&cid=165&vid=376

But still cheaper that getting spacers even off a forum member.
