  • Center Diff

    Hi,

I have a 1993 3.0TD kzn130, obviously I have no center diff. As I spend long winters in the north (norway) it would be great to have a center diff for driving in 4wd on the icey roads. Obviously you can drive in 4wd in the fresh snow but when the conditions become what we call mixed (ice/snow/asfelt) you cannot. So my question is does anyone have any experience with adding a center diff.... is it possible? Could I take off the trany and transfer box of a gen 3 and instal it on my gen 2. I could obviously sell and upgrade to a gen3 but I like my vehicle and its in really good condition, I dont want to risk selling it and buying a new one with problems. So what do people think?

The front propshaft on the 3rd gen is on the passenger side on the third gen, so you'd need the front axle as well as the matching rear, as well as all the associated looms.
    Cheaper/easier to buy a 3rd gen.
