Hello everyone, just signed up. I am putting a deposit down on 95 3.0 ssrx tommorow. had a test drive today, and there was a very small hairline crack at the top of radiator which had already been welded once before, the dealer assured me that it would be welded again, and gave me a 150% guarantee that if it went wrong he would fix it.
I am new to surfs, the radiator was very hot after a couple of miles and had lost a little water.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Kevin.

tell him you will have it if he fits a new rad, or knocks the money off to buy one, it will be on the back of your mind if you go any distance in it, is the rad going to start leaking

Yep tell him brand new rad to be fitted or at least £300.00 off price to cover buying a new rad yourself. If it leaks again it could end costing more than a new rad.

If the dealer wont change the rad walk away. a few people on here have had them fixed but often they dont stay "fixed" for long. i had a new one fitted by a Toyota dealer and it cost £574. lucky for me it was done under warranty. but even if you do get a warranty you will not be covered for it as you have prior knowledge of the fault.

For all the dealers promises once you give him your money all he has to say is that he told you about the fault and he can wash his hands of it.

It is a condition precedent to any liability under this Policy that the Insured Vehicle shall have undergone a pre-delivery inspection immediately prior to delivery to the Insured and be free of inherent defect at the time of purchase and that it shall be serviced in accordance with the Manufacturers recommended service intervals by a garage registered for VAT, the Garage completing the relevant service details on pages 16 and 17 and the receipt retained.

A maximum allowance of 14 days or 500 miles (whichever is less) shall be permitted as a run-over on the due date of service intervals."
