  • Lost a gear

    Right oh knowledgable ones !!

Hippo lost top gear for a little while this morning, yes she was warmed up, yes the overdrive was on, and yes she was doing more than 50, it was like the kickdown had self actuated.

    Any clues ?

Do the fault codes, its usually the O/D solonoid, or the ECU.

Have a crawl underneath, on the passenger side, is a plug with three wires, unplug this and take it up the road, shifting manually. This will prove its shifting mechanically.

It's just come home fine and dandy, I am hoping it had MMM (Miserable Monday Morning) Syndrome.

It's up for a service shortly, it can have fresh ATF.
