  • Fuel filter

Just started using veg oil today - using 2 to 1 diesel / SVO mix to be on safe side (Tesco Pura 56p per litre). Got a couple of new fuel filters in anticipation that it might need replaced quite quickly. However, being a complete novice I expect replacing the filter to take me 10 ten times longer than a competent person. Checked out fuel filter today and first question is - am I looking at the right thing? Expected the bit on the left with the black priming button but I've never noticed the bit on the right on any other image I've seen.

Thanks stormforce. I was hoping someone was going to say that - does that just mean I've got what is commonly referred to as a heated fuel filter? Can anyone confirm for definite? Does it make changing the fuel filter any trickier? Read somewhere on hear (AndyCook?) that these kick-in when viscosity is higher than normal but I'd have thought it might be based on temperature - anyone know which?

yes your right you have the heated fuel filter. it shouldn't make any difference to changing the fuel filter.remember to disconnect the electrical leads coming out of the bottom of the filter .The connection block is normally located on the inner wing somewhere

Thanks again. Jeez this is a quiet section - all the action seems to be in the General section.

when you refit the filter fill it with redex or atf right to the top and then fit it and go for a good hard drive that way you'll give the fuel system a bloomin good clean
