  • Resetting T-belt indicator on KZN185

Can anyone describe where the diagnostic port is located and which pins need shorting so that the T-belt light can be extinguished?

    Thanks
    Mark..

Still about...The KZN185 belongs to my brother. I've just sold my 2nd generation after 4 happy years of trouble free ownership.

I've got to say that in comparing the 2 types, I love the 185 for the extra space in the back, centre diff, better fuel economy, but preferred the softer suspension on mine especially for traversing the speed bumps etc and general driving. The 185 feels a bit harsh to the point of avoiding pot holes and crawling over speed humps!

Notice that you have gone for a gen 3. I imagine it's a noticeable jump in power compared with your 2.4?

Thanks for that. I'm hoping there's a way to reset it on the diagnostic port, but if not, I'll be taking the clocks off over the Xmas break.

You think you got it hard (technically speaking) i just fitted tjm suspension lift and is even harder, The truck is now like a go cart. I love it, the standard suspension setup is far too soft and every truck should go tjm!

Take the clocks out = 10 mins
                    Remove screw = 10 seconds
Replace screw in parallel screw hole = 10 seconds
                    Replace clocks = 10 mins
Total job = 20 mins 20 seconds = go do it now, it's not that cold

Yeah, getting the clocks out is a doddle compared to older 2nd gens.

Tis true, but on a 2nd gen you only have to remove a bit of rubber, press a button and replace rubber = 20 seconds

                          Thats the price of progress!

Well, actually I suspect its the price of cowboy garages and a to easy to reset light.
