Fan belt broken

Had one of the belts break today, No 3, the one nearest the engine and thought, right what have I not got working, turned the engine on, battery charging, A/C working, also the power steering still working.

What's going on here.

There are two belts that drive the alternator.

Yep, but replace the broken belt a.s.a.p.

Both Alternator/Water Pump Belts should be replaced as a pair of same brand and size otherwise they will not tension evenly. Brands may differ in length and a worn belt will be stretched.
