    hi there

ive recently failed an MOT for the following..... word for word -
offside outer track rod end ball joint has slight play [2.2.b.1f]
nearside rear shock absorber has a light misting of oil [2.7.3]
ive also been told that i need a gator or something for the front, any ideas on how much all of this will cost? ive been looking on ebay but not too sure on what to buy please advise.

    kind regards Mr Angry

if your truck is the 2nd gen with drop down tailgate i might have a shock here that will do for you but i won't know till tomorrow. The gaitor and track rod end you can get from www.toyotahilux.com or www.milneroffroad.com if i have got the shock which i am almost certain i have got then £30 inc p&p if thats ok.You may need to use the bushes from your own shock tho as i'm not sure if i still have them

      All items from Roughtrax.

      Trackrod end.....£10

      CV joint gaiter...........£8.

Procomp shock absorbers............£35 each, advisable to replace in pairs. n.b. these shocks do not have the hard/soft settings of the originals.

Original shocks from Toyota are big spendy!

Track rod end from here is £14+vat depending on what model you got, www.toyotahilux.com
Pro-comp shocks for the rear are £35 a piece replace them in pairs though so that's £70 and fairly simple to do yourself.

either of those sets of shocks won't give you the hard soft option like the genuine shocks do

Hope im not too late with this message but im an mot tester and the t/r/end and the shock only advisory points not failures. If they were failed it should read excessive play and excessive on the shock were they on a red or yellow sheet red is a vt30 which is fail yellow is a vt32 which is advisory and does not need imediate attension.Hope this helps.
