    Bushwacker

The guy at Valley 4x4 confirmed it was from a surf and one that he had been driving!?!?!?

I think that sounds highly probable - could you tell me where the interconecting loom(s) are before I go scrabling under (no ramps or axle stands).

If this is not successful then it wil be of to Stevo.

    Cheers

      Diagnostic Codes

      OK

Did a code check and got 22 and 43 wich are (offroad.com -Toyota Tech)

      22
Water temp sensor and or circuit (self explanitory)
      43
Starter signal - No "STA" signal to to ECU until engine speed exceeds 800rpm or,
      Ignition switch / circuit

Can anyone give the info on the best way to trouble shoot each of these and explain what the first part of 43 is?

I'm going to have to do as much of this as possible myself as I've just lost my job and am just about hanging onto the truck. (second time in a year )

Once again many thanks in advance

This stuff is from a manual for a KZN165, but so far all the info is the same, apart from some locations of relays and stuff is different.

        Water temp sensor....

          Starter......

Sounds like its just wiring issues with the new motor to be honest, you need to check they've plugged all the plugs in, especailly the earth straps, there is one round the back of the block that you can't connect up one the engine is back in place, and maybe get your old water temp sensor back and try that.
