It's the inner one that is going to cause you problems. I don't think there is any way to replace it other than to remove the hub in much the same way as you would when replacing the bearings. If that's the case, then you might as well do the bearing while you're at it.

Heh heh, fair enough, I wasn't sure if the bush would come out with the shaft if you did it that way.

S'ok mate, none taken at all. It's a sad day when you don't learn something new.

as long as the front end is off the floor and the stearing lock is off, the drive shafts will slide out of the hub and through the center of the lower wishbone, you may have to slightly turn the hub away from straight ahead to get them out, thats why i say both wheels off the floor, so you can manipulate the hub a bit.
it took me about 2 hours each side, in the rain, without any experiance and stopping for cups of tea and chats with passers by.
to be honest i found that getting the nuts off the drive shaft flange the hardest part, you do realy need to warm them up with a blow lamp, (not red hot, but gently with a medium flame and then you will see a puff of smoke come off the bolt when the thread lock has melted. you can get new thread lock for replacing the nuts from halfords and the such.
