Thirsty Surf

I have a thread on the other forum, but realised this one was back up and running. Anyway, my surf is rather thirsty at the moment, 12-15mpg, power is ok though, but it does smoke a bit at times (black). No sign of a fuel leak, and the air filter is quite new. Any suggestions?

Dirty/worn injectors. Try a full bottle of redex in the tank, if no improvement then you need new/reconditioned injectors.

Just checked the diagnostic code, and it came back with 41 which is

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL--OPEN OR SHORT IN TPS SIGNAL

--TPS SENSOR

--TPS SIGNAL/CIRCUIT

--ECU

Any ideas where I go from here guys?
