  • Intercooler South african style

See link for a South African outfit that do underslung intercoolers to kz-te's after they throw the original bash plate in the bin.

Anyone here done this? Is it possibly a better idea?

Also, They go on about remapping the electronics as well but most of the threads indicate that its just 'bolt on the intercooler & go'

Do these guys have a real winner or is it overkill to remap?

May do 1 or both when I go back home (someday)

If I was doing serious off roading in Africa under the truck is the last place I'd put it (although their unit does look tough).

I stripped my intercooler for a check recently and didn't put one of the clips back on tight enough. It blew a hose off and boy oh boy do you notice the difference - zero turbo charge to the manifold. I would think you'd have a similar pressure loss if you holed their cooler. Also, caking it in mud would impair its efficiency.
