well the heads off what a sod it was and it dont look good ,12 cracks in total its amazing that i drove it back from france like it, Well it looks like i have to spend some money on it. So why is it you can buy an alloy or a cast cylinder head i would have thought a cast one would have less of a chance cracking ok it weighs more but what the hell.

You can't buy a cast head for a 3.0, they are all aluminum. Cast is more likely to crack, its more brittle than ally, which I guess is why Toyota swapped to ally when designing the 3.0 after the 2.4's woes.

Like we said before. Buy a new head from either Stevo or Toyota. If you get one from somewhere else there is a good chance you WILL regret it. Don't do all that work, just to buy a cheap head trying to save a £300-400 only to have that head go on you. You'll have to do all the work again and end up paying for a genuine head and have in the end double the bill. It HAS happened on here in the past.

        As above.
        The end.
Smack it with a 16lb Hammer and it will come off!
