does any one know if there are any difficulties when removing the head and will i need new head bolts.

Yes you will absolutely, definitely need new bolts, you also need to use the search function, there are probably hundreds of threads on head replacement all packed with valuable bits of info, but you MUST use new bolts and make sure you get them from Toyota or Stevo or somewhere thats giving you genuine parts. getting that head torqued down just right is essential.
