  • Can a kzte be run without the electronics?

I want to do a conversion to the kzte and found one that has no electronis.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...1861178&rd=1,1

Can it be made to run without? Is there a manual pump that could be used?

Maybe even a better source for this engine complete would help too.

    Thanks for your help,
    Mark

BTW, this is the project in question.

      Alan,

      Thanks for your response.

What years do I look for?

Also I am in the US, so I will need a supplier out side of the US, any sugestions?

Is this the engine that I would need to upgrade my 2.4 1st gen to a 3lt?

Ah, the 70 series landcruiser was never released in the US. The 3.0 was available here from about 92 to 96 (it was also available with the 2.4 2L-T at the same time). The 1KZ-T was also in some Previa people carriers, but I'm not sure if it was the 'E' variant or not.

For suppliers in the UK try something like http://www.1stchoice.co.uk or http://www.247spares.co.uk/toyota or just google "japanese breakers UK".

Thanks for your help, I am sure I will have plenty of questions as I just picked up a half cut from Jarco.

I just got home with it and fired it up. Everything works including the AC.

Now I have my work cut out for me cause I only have at best 3 months to get the in the Willys to be ready for the Rubicon trail.
